Join us August 13, 2011 as we reach out to those in need in Cary and the surrounding area through our first annual Living Grace Free Clinic. The clinic will run from 10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Below are some additional details about the clinic as well as areas you might be able to help serve or provide goods or services to help us make this event successful!

Living Grace Free Clinic is a one-day event, on a Saturday. Volunteers gather from churches and across the community to provide free services for guests. Services range from medical, dental and optical care, a clothing closet, food pantry and a hot lunch.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Below is a list of many of the volunteer opportunities and donation needs we have for the clinic. If you have questions or would like to volunteer or donate to the clinic, please email us at livinggraceclinic@gmail.com and we will get in touch with you shortly. Click here to go to the form to sign up as a volunteer.

Registration:  These volunteers are responsible for scheduling the guests in the appropriate time slots.

Advocate:
At the time of registration each guest is given an advocate whose sole responsibility is to guide him or her through the clinic experience.

Set Up & Tear Down Crew: There will be a great deal of set up and tear down needed to make this event happen. We will need many able bodies to make this happen!

Lunch Preparation and Serving: We are looking for friendly people to help serve lunch to the guests and workers the day of the clinic. This can be through providing food and/or serving it to the guests as they come to have lunch. Men's Ministry will be coordinating the lunch for the guests and volunteers. Exact food needs will be communicated as the clinic approaches.

Clothing Closet:
We are looking for donations of gently used clothes in every size. This portion of the clinic will provide free clothing to the families coming through the clinic.  We will also need some volunteers to help work in the Clothing Closet during the clinic to help keep the clothes neat and help guests and advocates as they come through the clinic. Kim Nordin & Jeannine Primmer with Child/ Youth will be coordinating the clothing portion of the clinic. Donation drop off times for the Clinic will be July 17, 24, 31 and August 7 during the 8:00 and 10:45 services. Please leave donations in bags behind your car and we will come through the parking lot and collect them after the services have begun.

Back Packs: We will be purchasing back packs and basic school supplies for school-age children attending the clinic. We are able to purchase these at a discounted price through a special organization. Monetary donations are welcome for this area and the money raised at Vacation Bible School this year will go toward this portion of the clinic. Each Backpack with supplies will run about $7.00. Penni Sikora will be overseeing the backpack portion of the clinic. Penni Sikora with Child/Youth will be coordinating the Back Packs for the clinic.

Food Pantry: Donations of non-perishable food will be taken on the following dates. Guests to the clinic will be able to come through the Food Pantry and fill a bag with food and personal items at no cost. Community Relations will be coordinating the Food Pantry portion of the clinic.

Optical: We will have optical screenings for the guests coming to the clinic. We are unable to do full eye exams but will provide information on where they can get further treatment if necessary. Dr. Jeff Johnson will be coordinating the Optical portion of the clinic.

Photographer: We are looking for someone to capture the events of the day through photography and possibly video as well. If you are interested in helping with this need, please contact Christy Anderson.

Prayer Room Counselors: We are looking for individuals who would be on hand to pray with guests who would like prayer as well as spend time talking with people who might be going through a rough time or who might have questions about spiritual things.

Donations needed: Check back often as we will update this portion as we become aware of additional needs.

Walkie Talkies: We could use a number of professional walkie talkies for communicating between the different areas of the clinic. If you have access to professional walkie talkies that we could use for the day, please contact Christy Anderson via email by clicking here.
